My Professional Career
My professional career began in 2003 with the apprenticeship as a communication engineer for electronic data processing and telecommunications. Today this technical background shows a good basis to be able to master complicated technical duties theoretically and practically.
I’ve been with “Kapsch TrafficCom AG" for 17 years and I’m currently serving as Service Manager and Project Manager for projects within the region EMENA (Europe, Middle East, North Africa).
In 2007, I started working with “ On Board Unit Management ” on the Austrian and Czech truck toll system. Within this roll I covered the coordination and the settlement of the “On Board Unit” refurbishment between our customers and the manufacturing company.
In addition I was responsible for technical support and product trainings for customers based in Austria, Italy and Ireland.
To keep abreast with developments in the industry as a whole, I did further trainings and attended seminars. The trainings comprised SQL server, network technologies, product trainings, Linux, etc. on the technical side and diversity, technical/business English, business etiquette and general management as part of soft skills training.
The role offered was very challenging and therefore I decided to not continue with the studies and join the South African project.
The contact with our system customers and therefore a new complex working sphere began for me with South Africa (Gauteng Open Road Tolling). My duties with the Gauteng Open Road Tolling project included the following:
- Training of local teams
- Process documentation
- System installations/upgrade
- Improving monitoring solution
- Interface with Head Office (Vienna) and Kapsch AB (Sweden)
Starting with South Africa, I took on other similar roles for projects in Texas (Dallas) and Belarus.
When Kapsch won the tender for the establishment and the operation of a toll system in Portugal in 2011, it was obvious for me from the beginning that I would like to be part of this project.
Since the design and built phase and the takeover of the project in the operation phase, I’ve been responsible for the budget of the “Multi Lane Free Flow”, "All Vehicle Tolling" project from 2013 till 2017 as Service Delivery Manager. I was also responsible for the fulfillment of the agreed SLAs.
Enclosed in this responsibility were the coordination and supervision of our sub-contractors and local partner companies in Portugal.
After a long tender phase, Kapsch TrafficCom got 2016 the contract to renew the truck tolling system for ASFiNAG in Austria. In the course of the implementation of the necessary project organization, i took over the project "Operations mobilization"..
Within the upcoming two years, I was responsible for the realization of the customer requirements related to Operation. We were able to achieve all agreed milestones within the project. Due to the implementation of the project we built up the operations organization and implemented couple of applications for the operations phase. The main applications are the monitoring and the ticket system which support and optimize the daily business since mid of 2018.
From the time the successful project phase was finalized and the system was handed over to Operation in June 2018, I was responsible for the technical operation of the Truck Tolling System in Austria as Service Operations Manager. The system contains about 800 decentralized tollingstations around the Austrian highways, and redundant central systems to be able to ensure a stable operation of the system.
To be prepared for further projects I did project managment trainings due to 2018.
I was finally able to get the "IPMA Level C - Project Manager"-certificate from PMA (Projekt Management Austria) beginning of 2019.
Currently I'm supporting different projects within implementation phases. Furthermore I'm helping to answer tenders, related to operation topics, using my knowledge and my longtime experience.
